We collect information you provide when creating an account, including your name, email address, phone number, city, and profile information. We also collect information about your usage of the platform, such as job postings, proposals, and chat messages.
We use your information to: provide and improve our services; connect Job Posters with Workers; process transactions and Connects purchases via PayFast; send notifications about job activity; enforce our Terms of Service; and comply with legal obligations.
When you post or browse jobs, we may use your location data to provide distance-based search and filtering. Location data from job postings is used to show relevant jobs to nearby Workers. You can control location sharing in your browser settings.
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with: payment processors (PayFast) to process transactions; service providers who assist in operating the platform; and law enforcement when required by law. Job Posters and Workers can see each other's public profile information when engaging on jobs.
We use cookies and similar technologies to maintain your session, remember your preferences, and improve your experience. Authentication tokens are stored as HTTP-only cookies for security.
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information, including encrypted data storage, secure authentication, and access controls. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), you have the right to: access your personal information; correct inaccurate information; request deletion of your data; object to processing of your information; and withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact us or use the account settings in your dashboard.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
LinkUp is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
